Accumulation Swing Index Indicator

The accumulation swing index is a variation of the Swing Index indicator. This indicator is typically used as a confirmation indicator, but considered more reliable in determining long term trends than the plain Swing Index since it uses more than the last two bars.

The indicator values for ASI will vacillate around the 0 line when the price is not trending. If the ASI is making higher highs in conjunction with the price, an upward trend may be confirmed. Likewise, if the ASI is making lower lows in conjunction with with the price, this may confirm a down trend.
