Doesn't look like RE  can support Volume By Price Indicator as shown in the pic. Can this be done (without resorting to code within a System)?

I would like to get ideas on how I can accomplish this in RE. Can a chart object plugin be made?

To make sure I understand, does "Volume by Price" simply mean that the volume is embedded within the price chart as shown or is there more than meets the eye?

Volume By Price means that for every price point there is a cumulative volume traded at that price. The bars represent total volume traded at that specific price point for the period in question, The bars' left margin is the start of the period. So if I chose VBP for 1 day intraday, the bars would start at todays left margin, say 9h30AM, and extend out some customizable amount (1/3 or something) and should be semi transparent so as not to interfere with price action.  The bars update dynamically throughout the day/week/hour etc. You can set the Price increments or total bars. QuoteTracker has a decent example of this.

Any idea on this? Chart object is now not a possibility. Its funny, the code is all ready within the indicator plugin but no way to display it yet.

I think the only option you have right now is to write a system that does this.  It would have to create a rectangle chart object on the chart for each of the "volume bars" you wanted to draw.  Your horizontal coordinate resolution will be limited to one bar.

I was afraid of that. I'll have to draw over a hundred chart objects which will slow my processing. Which do you think is a betrter idea:

a) draw hundred objects or

b) spawn a form on a separate thread and draw a vertical bar chart updated bar by bar?

thx
