It would great to be able to define the parameters in the code and not have to use the GUI, like:

...

MovAvgLength = new parameter(10)

....

And you could set up optimization run just by doing

MovAvgLength = new parameter(1,100,10)

RE: RightEdge 2008 Release 2

Automation is the ability to write code that performs actions in RightEdge, such as running a system, updating data, accessing the watchlist, etc. Custom optimization plugins are really just a special case of this: they need to be able to set the parameters for a system and run it, and access the results.

Our thinking is that when we first introduce automation it will mainly be focused on allowing custom optimization, as well as any other actions that are easy for us to provide. From there we would add functionality to it based on user feedback.

Thanks,
Daniel

RE: RightEdge 2008 Release 2

What do you define as "automation"?

RE: RightEdge 2008 Release 2

To give everyone an update, we are moving forward and don't currently have any roadblocks. Support is pretty much done for running systems in multiple frequencies and using a different system frequency from the data frequency. There isn't yet much UI support for these features, however. We are currently working on support for large data sets. Support for tick level backtesting is still to come.

Unfortunately, we may have to cut optimization plugins and automation from this release. If they don't make it into this release then we would plan to have them in the next one.

Since the multiple frequency support is working, we may release a beta (with some rough edges) sometime "soon."

Thanks,
Daniel

RE: RightEdge 2008 Release 2
billb (10/12/2008)
We hit a pretty significant set back, but we're starting to see some light. I'm sure we'll have a "not for the faint of heart" build before September.
rolfe (7/5/2008)
That sounds pretty good. Multiple live systems simultaneously is certainly something we want to support, but it was never really planned for the next edition.

Feel free to check out the Multiple Systems thread for a sample of how you can manage multiple seperate strategies yourself. Also feel free to give us feedback on that thread on how you would like the feature to work once we eventually do add it.

Thanks,
Daniel

RE: RightEdge 2008 Release 2

What happened to multiple time frames in a single simulation? Frequency is quoted, as this feature will allow not only multiple frequencys but multiple bar types in the same system.

Tick Charts

Steam in/out of large datasets.

Optimization Plugins.

Schedule and feature sets can and often do change, though, so consider these as plans and not promises at this point.

RightEdge 2008 Release 2

Hi,

May I know what will be the schedule release date for RightEdge 2008 Release 2 ?
Also, can you please list out the new features added to this release ?
