We have released a refresh of beta 2. Many big features have come together in the last couple of weeks as well as a number of important bug fixes. See the details below.
The software can be downloaded from the following URL:
Anyone who is a member of the site can now download the beta, free of charge. If you haven't signed up already, click here (it's free, and we don't give out any of your information).
NOTE: If you have previously installed a beta version of RightEdge it may be necessary to delete the entire program folder after running the uninstallation.
RightEdge is built on top of the latest Microsoft .NET Framework. Check to make sure the Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 is installed on your computer. If it is not installed, or you are not sure, please obtain this framework from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en
This is a free download.

- Introducing Drag and Drop Trading Systems!
After much development work, we'd like to begin getting feedback on our drag and drop trading systems. Drag and drop trading systems allow you to create actual trading systems without having to write any code at all. Admittedly, the user interface could use some sprucing up, but we think the functionality is compelling and useful enough to allow you to use and give feedback.
- Code Editor Auto Completion
The code editor in RightEdge now has the ability to bring up information about variables, functions, classes, etc while typing. This is commonly known as Intellisense™ in Microsoft products. The editor now also supports virtual space.
We have made significant headway on the documentation for the application. It is not yet complete, but please review and send your feedback. If there are additional topics you'd like to see covered, please let us know that as well.
We have added charts to the system results to further analyze and breakdown the information collected during a simulation run. Charts include equity curve, system breakdown, MAE/MFE, profit distribution and symbol breakdown.
- More System Results Features
The systems results screen has been reworked for readability, but also added the ability to export to tab delimited, comma delimited and HTML. System results screens can now be printed as well!
All chart colors are now configurable. Charts can now be copied to the clipboard, printed and saved to bitmap, jpeg, gif or PNG.
- Updated Developer Documentation and Samples
All RightEdge indicators now have sample code in the documentation (both online and offline). http://www.rightedgesystems.com/documentation/developerguide/index.html
- Fixed a problem in shorting where money returned back into the account was calculated incorrectly.
- Stopping live data could be problematic upon restarting.
- Configured columns in the live data window could get corrupted.
- Exception generated when trying to print when no printer is installed
- Interactive Brokers data plugin was not compatible with the latest version of IB's TWS API.
- Restoring a saved chart crashed the application.
- Chart Objects were not refreshing during live system runs.
- Parabolic SAR was broken.
After the successful download of RightEdge, extract the zip file to a temporary directory and run the Setup application. Follow the steps in the installation wizard and once the files are copied to their final destination, RightEdge is ready to use.
It is highly recommended that RightEdge is uninstalled before installing this refresh. In addition to running the uninstall (located in the Start/Remove Programs in the Control Panel), it is recommended that the RightEdge program folder is completely removed. After running the uninstall, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the RightEdge folder (the default folder is located in C:\Program Files\Yye Software) and delete this folder.
RightEdge creates a program group in the Start Menu. There are three items in the list, RightEdge, Getting Started Guide and RightEdge Developer Guide. It is highly recommended that you take a look at the Getting Started Guide to learn the basics of navigating around the software and understanding key features. Use the RightEdge Developer Guide to help build systems from code. The RightEdge Developer Guide is now available online at http://www.rightedgesystems.com/Documentation/DeveloperGuide/index.html.
Beta testers have our full support resources available to them. For the short term, it is recommended that you post any problems to our public forums so that others may benefit from the solution provided. You may also use our support URL to send a message directly to our support staff at http://www.rightedgesystems.com/support.aspx. We can also provide others means of support (telephone, instant messenger, etc) on a case by case basis.
We look forward to your feedback.
